Special Projects.
Cardington-Lincoln High School Prom.
Students on the prom committee asked me to help them create the backdrop for the prom photos..... the were not interested in a simple cardboard cutout. They wanted to have a flowering tree for the boys to stand next to and the girls would be sitting on the tree swing. It was a huge task......... One of the girls had her father make the wooden swing frame that we built the tree, branches, flowers and swing around...... The frame was brought into the art room so we could work on the project daily. It was a great experience for all my 7th-12th grade students to witness..... the time, dedication and progress the students and I made daily. The students were all very excited and couldn't believe the final product. We used a wooden frame, chicken wire, newspaper, brown paper, recycled paper and paper towels, paper mache, paint, plaster and some donated flowers.
It was finally driven in a horse trailer to prom at Wedgewood Country Club in Powell,Ohio. Photos show the progression of the project with even my parents showing up at prom.

Linden McKinley High School - Via Colori 2003, Columbus,Ohio.
I-670 Became a Canvas for Via Colori - Before the first tire hit the road, almost 200 artists used the fresh “canvas” of Interstate 670 to create art and celebrate the completion of the new route in downtown Columbus,Ohio. The Short North Arts District, in conjunction with ODOT, hosted Via Colori on September 13 and 14, 2003.
A few of my students decided they wanted to represent our school (Linden McKinley High School - Columbus Public School District) and show off our artistic talent..... Thanks for letting us participate!

Cardington-Lincoln Drama Scenery
I was asked by the drama teacher to paint the scenery (log cabin) for the school play. A small group of my art students also helped out as it was a large job.
